Gill Bibby has been restoring, building and creating handmade wood boats since 1977. He opened a business as a mobile marine service and repairs. The boat shop was open in the fall of 1977 as winter work was starting. Traditional wooden boat restoration and building became a major part of the business.

Setting up his boat repair and restoration business Hamilton, Gill has been working with small to large vessels of every design. Dealing with Wood is his love, but not limited to. His shop has repaired aluminum, fiberglass and many wood boats.

Building wooden boats from the frame to varnish has been pleasure to be able to work within his career. He has been able to apply traditional skills and tools and combine modern techniques and equipment to become a highly regarded builder within his industry.

Gill has been active with historical reenactments for several years and has become an authority on naval traditions and disciplines. He was commissioned from the City of Hamilton to build a replica of the 'Hamilton Ships Boat' in 1988 for the Hamilton and Scourge Society. Which has appeared in a large number of advertisements, photos, film and TV series.
